Maple Pumpkin Scones

Please forgive the quiet around here.  I’m deep in the making and preparing for a special soon to be three year old’s birthday party but I wanted to take a minute to share this scone recipe with you, a spin on our absolute favorite.  Enjoy.

Maple Pumpkin Scones

  • 3 C flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • tiny bit of clove
  • 1/2 C cold butter
  • 1/3 C milk
  • 1/2 C pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 C maple syrup
  1. Mix dry ingredients together.
  2. Cut butter into dry ingredients.
  3. Mix puree, milk, and syrup together.  Add to dry ingredients and butter.  Do not overmix.
  4. Turn out and knead just until cohesive.  Pat into an 8″ round and cut into 8 wedges.
  5. Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes.
  6. I top with a quick glaze of maple syrup, milk, and powdered sugar.
  7. Eat and enjoy!
