Harper: A Handmade Cloth Doll

Happy November, friends!  Cozy November, my favorite month of the year.  Please allow me to greet this most loved month by introducing Harper, a custom November Morning doll.

Harper is 17″ tall and made from my Sunshine Doll pattern.  I made a small adjustment to the pattern, including a dart in the back panel for a rounder bum that allows her to sit up nice and straight.*  As is typical of my dolls, Harper also has knee and elbow dimples, a belly button, and lightly sculpted cheeks.  Her dress is a lovely cotton print that is just perfect as we move into the more delicate November light.  Her woolly sweater and boots will no doubt keep her warm.  A couple of bright blue ribbons in her hair echo the blue on her dress and help to balance all the gray.

Harper will be on the way to her family soon.  I should probably just go ahead and admit that I’ll miss her here in the studio.  There is something very special about her.  Perhaps it’s that I’ve knitted her sweater with my favorite yarn in my favorite colorway?  It’s tough to say, but I hope her family loves her as much as I do!

I don’t have any  custom spots open for the rest of this year, though I may or may not have some ready to go dolls available.  I do, however, have a couple of spots up for the beginning of 2015.  November Morning Dolls can be found on Etsy here.

*All of the dolls from the Sunshine pattern sit independently, they just sit up a little straighter now.

Love her Carrie – another masterpiece! Those cheeks are chubby and rosy – just right for pinching and kissing!
