Sadie: A Handmade Cloth Doll

October 1, 2014

Sometimes after I’ve finished working on a doll, I’m at a loss for what to say.  It’s as though all my creative energy for a given doll has been poured into the making and then there just aren’t any words.

Making dolls feels a little like parenting to me.  You give so much and once you think you’re exhausted you find a way to dig a little deeper and give a little more.  The rewards are certainly worth the effort, I think.

Sadie is a custom November Morning Sunshine Doll.  She is approximately 17″ tall with sun-kissed skin and lovely brown eyes.  Sadie’s hair is curly pink wefted mohair that she likes to keep in spunky pigtails.  She wears a cotton dress, along with a wool sweater and matching boots in a nice golden autumn yellow.

Sadie is already spoken for and on her way home.  Should you wish for a November Morning Doll of your own, I have one custom spot left for 2014.  If you are thinking of a doll for the holidays this year, now is the time!  I’ll leave the listing up through the rest of the week (10/3/14) while I gather supplies and do some scheming for October.  Thanks!
