Pressed Flower Suncatchers

July 3, 2014

We did this project in the Spring and somehow I forgot to post about it.

As soon as tiny blossoms started to peek out last May, we grabbed our treasure bags and headed to the park.  The kids had a blast looking for small purple flowers in the grass and stretching to reach white ones on the trees.  We also came home with many dandelions, but they had to go in a vase  as they would not fit in our flower press (this one).  After a couple of days in the press, we removed the flowers and arranged them between two laminating sheets.  They look lovely in the windows and it has been interesting to watch how the colors have faded in the sun over the last few weeks.

Now that the Summer flowers are here, we may do this again, perhaps with rose petals this time.

Really pretty and a super idea. Love pressed flowers myself.
