Lucy: A Handmade Cloth Doll Give-Away
I wasn’t going to publish this post until June, but I just can’t wait any longer!
Please meet Lucy. Lucy is a 17″ Waldorf-inspired handmade cloth doll. She is a prototype of the pattern I’m calling the Sunshine Doll*, by November Morning Dolls. So much dreaming and sketching and sewing went into the creation of this pattern and I’m thrilled to now have Lucy sitting (independently!) in front of me. To celebrate this new doll as well as my oh-so-hopeful venture in to doll-making, Lucy is up for give-away.
Lucy is approximately 17″ tall. She is stuffed to a medium firmness with lovely eco-wool. Her skin is organic cotton interlock knit. Her hair is a soft, carrot colored mohair. Lucy wears a simple cotton purple dress, a cotton pinafore, and little cotton bloomers as well. Her cap is knitted and her shoes are crocheted, both of soft merino wool. All of her clothing was made by me. Lucy’s facial features are hand embroidered with cotton floss. Her freckles are carefully drawn on with permanent archival quality ink. Her rosy glow is achieved with the help of beeswax. As a prototype, Lucy does have a few quirks. None of these things, however, are anything I would consider a major flaw, only the stuff of a doll maker finding her way.
If you would like to bring Lucy home to you, all you have to do is comment on this post. That’s it. As I am trying to spread awareness of my dolls and doll-making, shares of this post are appreciated but not required for the give-away. The only thing I ask is that if Lucy must ever be re-homed, please keep with the spirit in which this post is written and give her. She is not intended to ever be sold.
Lucy is not appropriate for a child under the age of three or a child that still puts things in his or her mouth.
I’ll pick a winner on June 21st, 2014.
I hope you love Lucy as much as I do. I’ll be sure to share more photos in the coming weeks.
PS Should you already know that you want a doll and do not wish to try your luck in the give-away, I have one custom spot available for June, along with one spot available for July. Also feel free to drop me an email.
*In the future I hope to offer a few different sizes and styles of doll. I thought it best to start naming the different styles now.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that entered!
