Write On

O and I made valentines for all of his Montessori friends over the weekend.  On the opposite side they read “Write on, Valentine!”  A simple enough project that took just a couple of afternoons with the two of us happily working together.  Such fun!

What a simple little craft, yet so lovely. So much better than a store bought Valentine!

Great cutting skills, how old is your little one? Mine is 3 1/2 and we’ve been working on cutting skills for a while now. She is so obsessed with scissors but would get so angry at the little safety ones cause they wouldn’t cut anything that we figured, “let’s just teach her right”. :-) Fun crafts!

O is 4.5. I realized after I took the photo that he’s holding his scissors upside down there! Kind of funny after I made sure to oh-so-carefully select “true left-handed scissors” with the reversed blades for him. The scissors he had before these were the kind with the spring in them, meant to make learning the motion of cutting easier. They were supposed to be for either hand but the blades were not reversed and he still struggled. Switching to this particular pair (just this past December) made a big difference for him!
