Four Years

My husband…

is sure to notice when the peonies blossom.
does the meal planning and grocery shopping.
brushes the teeth of an uncooperative toddler.
listens to me go on about knitting, even if twisted stitches mean nothing to him.
loves to garden.
makes the best salsa I’ve ever eaten.
can’t carry on a conversation while watching a movie.
sings and plays guitar for our son every night.
(still) sometimes forgets to wipe the cutting board after use.
makes it possible for a tired mama to get a little extra sleep on the weekends.
never wears polo shirts, thankfully.
works hard.
will be starting a Master’s program in the Fall.
likes cloth diapering as much as I do.
is an amazing father.
misses Charlie as much as I do.
writes well.  Really well.
is hilarious, even if his jokes are a bit lame.
says “this is the best ___ I’ve ever had!” anytime I bake anything.
has always been the kindest person I know.
is so very imperfectly perfect.
