Happy Valentine’s Day!

Notes:

  • We now have  a Learning Tower in our home!  There’s something to be said for giving little ones the opportunity to safely experience and learn about their environment at our level.  We purchased ours as locally as we could, at Jillian’s Drawers.
  • O is washing his hands in a “hand-washing station” I set up for him after painting. It is simply a bowl of warm water with a squirt of his Burt’s Bees baby soap and a wash cloth (all on a towel).  He washed his hands himself and then helped me dump the water down the sink…  He had the opportunity to care for himself “independently” and mama didn’t have to struggle to get the paint off his hands.  Worked like a charm!
  • The bread is from the Tassajara Bread Book.  We like to use molasses to sweeten.
  • O’s knitted vest is the simplest variation of the Milo.  Ravelry notes here.
  • The chocolate chip cookie is the TCCCC from Baking Illustrated.

looks like a GREAT weekend :) Is that one of the toddler stool things that O is standing on? I have considered getting one so the kids can help more easily in the kitchen but I haven’t yet….

      It was a great weekend♥
And yes, that is a Learning Tower! We just got it on Saturady and LOVE it! It keeps him safe while allowing him to interact with us. I think there’s something to be said for giving little ones the opportunity to experience the world at our level. Our kitchen just never feels safe enough to me. With this, I feel a lot more at ease. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. It’s so much easier if I can have O out there with me (and now that he’s older, he’s less inclined to let me put him on my back). It’s really solid and the design is kind of genius. Plus, I’m hoping he’ll use it for other things and future siblings will get use out of it as well. It is expensive, but completely worth it.
