A Sweater For the Birthday Girl

August 18, 2010

Since our one and only niece was born (two years ago now!), I’ve made her a sweater for each birthday, including the actual day of her birth.  Here we have the second birthday sweater in Malabrigo’s Brilliante.

The buttons are from Peace Fleece.  Oh, how I love those buttons!

The pattern is EZ’s Baby Surprise Jacket rather modified with a lacey panel at the back.  Full modification details can be found on Ravelry.

The jacket fits the birthday girl rather well and I think she’ll be able to wear it through the colder months that are already well on their way.  (The leaves have already started to turn ’round here!)

So, what have you been working on lately?
Has anyone pledged handmade for the holidays this year?

So lovely. I knit a sweater for my baby (now 3) each fall. I have some lovely merino/silk in shades of blue for this year’s sweater.
