Review & Discount: ECOlunchboxes

April 12, 2010

My husband, being the frugal eco-guy that he is, packs his lunch everyday.  Usually he just takes left-overs from dinner the night before.  He packs them up neatly in a reusable container, grabs his sigg bottle, and into his work bag they go!  When I came across ECOlunchboxes’ ECOlunchbox Kit, my first thought was “How Perfect”.   The ECOlunchbox Kit has everything my eco-friendly guy needs for his daily lunch-packing!

When the Kit arrived for review, I was not only delighted, but impressed!  This product is gorgeous!  The ECOlunchbag is made of fabric that has been hand-blocked by artisans in India.  The bag is reversible, 100% cotton, and machine washable!  It comes with three coordinating napkins that are large enough to also be used as placemats.  The bag’s construction is genius!  With a few rings and a simple button, this bag can transform from a backpack, to a shoulder bag, to a hip bag.  B wears his in the hip bag style and it just rides right along with his messenger style work bag.  It is very roomy and can hold not only lunch, but a water bottle and a few other items as well.

The ECOlunchbox is a wonderful compliment to the bag.  It is food-grade, lead-free, dishwasher-safe stainless steel.  My husband likes the cool modern look.  It fits a whole sandwich perfectly and the included “yogurt cup” is just the right size for a side.  The closures are nice and tight, keeping food fresh.  B’s only qualms seem to be that it isn’t leak-proof (no soups!) and obviously it isn’t micorwave-safe (again, no soup!).

Our ECOlunchbag is the Adobe Blue (pictured) and it really is so very pretty.  Honestly, I’d carry it as an everyday bag, lunch or not!  We may be investing in another soon, as I’m feeling a little jealous!

Yeah, I love my bag. Wish they’d sent me the food storage part to review, too, but they weren’t really into the blogger thing quite yet then.

Um, of course I stalk your blog, too. :-) Our few sentence-long convo about the competitiveness of “mommy” blogs is what made me look at the Blog Party in the way I did…and I think I may have some ideas to help ease the tension between people! We’ll see. I’ll work on it for May.
