WIP Wednesday: Spring Stripes Baby Jacket

March 10, 2010

It’s official, I have never been more in love with a knit or crochet project than I am with this particular little baby jacket!

Spring is in the air and this project is wrapping up just in time! I think it’ll be perfect to keep Baby O cozy on chilly spring mornings and cool summer evenings.  I just need to seam up the sleeves, weave in the ends, and add buttons.  I think I’ll also give it a delicate wash in the machine and a low cycle in the dryer.  I like the way doing this hides my sometimes less than perfect knitting looks as the stitches soften and tighten up just a bit.  Then, after the initial machine wash/dry, I’ll be sure to hand wash/flat dry!

I flirted with adding a Tomten hood, but then decided on the Heartbreakingly Cute Pilot Cap to match.  The cap, like the sweater, is a piece of origami-like knitting.  I think they’ll accompany each other well.  Plus, I’m lovin’ the seed stitch!

Now, it’s your turn!  What are you crafting?  (Please feel free to leave a link!)

I hope everyone is having a great week!
