Review & Give-Away: Lifefactory

February 3, 2010

The first thing I thought when I saw Lifefactory bottles was Neat-O!  They are fabulously visually appealing, aren’t they?  Then I found out these bottles aren’t just nice to look at, they are eco-friendly too, and that pretty much did it for me!  Lifefactory bottles are glass with a colorful medical-grade silicone sleeve.  They are free of BPA, phthalates, and PVC , requirements for all baby products in our household.  Hooray!

During our review process, we found these bottles perform well and happily fit my pump (very important for an EPer).  I do wish they had a venting system, as I find the bottles we reach for most often are bottles with venting systems.  We also have had some nipple collapse, but this is quickly remedied by loosening the collar just a bit.  We have noticed that the bottles we experience nipple collapse with most often are the bottles without venting systems.

Overall, I’d say this is a nice bottle.  They are green and easy to clean.  They are dishwasher safe.  Oh, to have a dishwasher! Someday.  *sigh*  The silicone sleeve is also dishwasher safe.  We like the grip the sleeve provides, though it does make it a tad more difficult for exact measurements.  This isn’t a problem for us, since we are not formula users.  I think when mixing formula, it might be better to mix it in something else and then pour it into this bottle, so that you can get precise measurements.

pam marcus is a feeding specialist!
this means a lot to me because my oldest daughter was born with cleft palate and she had to have a special bottle. those kids of bottles require feeding specialists!
